Attraction
"Sparks fly, Instant chemistry" Cliches all Something happens, violently sweet, brief, An eruption of confusion longing, craving -fades into a glow embers stoked to last a little longer, warm, content.
Atomicgitten:Ah, I am an idealist or didn't you know? Another thing that must be kept in mind is that parallel realities exist therefore alternate truths must be given credence. It doesn't matter if love doesn't happen to you or me. The point is that it exists somewhere we can't reach.
One enterprising poet-i-cal definition of attraction that! I loved the abruptness of the little piece, much like attraction itself, which is quite abrupt isn't it? (I am not going into the merits of the word 'abrupt' of course)!
Well, also having read a little of your import, I feel you have a streak of the pragmatic and the Romantic in you - the latter in upper case as I am referring to a state-of-mind as well as the Movement! Oh, you 'are' an idealist, aren't you? As for the breif exchange of comments above - if you allow my participation therein too - I think one needs to accept certain realities though they are not empirical. Parallel truths as thou call it, no? Suffice to say that though I am interested in the 'speculative' grammars of the theologians, I still hold fast to the fact that logical positivism is a myth spread by some great scholars for god-knows-why! And hey... let me quit these portals ere a lady we know in the blogosphere tries to banish me for a discussion bordering on the 'linguistic'.!
Hey nam... Awesome! Liked the half-sentences and the way it ended too! :) Anyway, you, idealistic? Sheesh, I'm disappointed in you... How could you do this to me? Thought you were one of my few like-minded, cynical, pessimistic friends. Guess I was wrong! Sigh. That's one down on my list.
Heh. Anyway, nice one. Keep writing and posting. Oh and you should put up some of your sonnets too!

Yes, "sparks fly". All the things you think exists only in fiction, suddenly becoming non-fiction. Well, I'll keep that in mind.

gah, my sucky single word (is sigh a word?) comment feels inferior now, being bookended (is that the term?) by the ones by atomicgitten and srini..

very pretty... makes me think of the various women that...
oh i dont think i should finish that sentence.
but very nice, very evocative :)
absolutely idealistic and all. the even more capital thing about it is that its been brilliantly compressed into a few lines. i.e, the brevity factor.
in view of the new shit that has come to light (seen the Big Lebowski?), i must say that the idealism is also..tragic.
hey, good one! especially loved "violently sweet" and "an eruption of confusion". creates an interesting image...keep the poems coming in git!
